Just before 8 p.m. Friday, records manager for Guinness World Records Kaoru Ishikawa declared that Fort Scott had just broken the record for the longest line of pennies. At that time, the YAT team along with area residents had laid 35.1 miles of pennies in the Fort Scott Middle School parking lot.
