The Fort Scott Community College criminal justice program is training its students to enter the world of law enforcement and related fields. After going through some changes and revisions earlier this year, the two-year associate of arts program is currently preparing students for careers in the criminal justice or law enforcement fields. This spring, the Kansas Board of Regents approved revising the two-year program to allow students -- if they so choose -- to complete the program in one year...

Gary was born on December 16, 1940 in Fort Scott, Kansas the son of Kenneth and Rebecca Price Johnson. Crawford County authorities on Monday issued an arrest warrant for an alleged drug dealer in connection with the shooting death of a Pittsburg man two weeks ago. Albert E. Donald L. "Joe" Schroder, age 75, died at Midland Hospice House on Mondaym, October 30, 2006. He was born May 7, 1931 to Edith Schroder Tucker. He graduated from Fort Scott High School in 1950. He served in the National Guard from 1951-1953. He attended junior college two years where he won medals for shot put in 1951-52 before winning a scholarship to Pittsburg College.
