Pep rally to send off No. 3 'Hounds

Tuesday, October 20, 2009

There will be a pep rally for the Fort Scott Community College football team tonight at 9:30 p.m. at Arnold Arena following the FSCC volleyball match.

The volleyball match against Coffeyville will begin at 6:30 p.m. It's a key match for the Greyhounds, who are seeking to qualify for the Region VI Tournament.

Afterwards, FSCC head football coach Jeff Sims, Athletic Director J.D. Ettore and some of the Greyhound players will speak to the crowd before they board the buses for a 680-mile trip to Colorado Springs, Colo. FSCC (7-0) will take on Air Force Prep (5-3) on Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. Central time.

The public is invited to attend the pep rally. There is no admission charge for either the volleyball match or the pep rally.

FSCC remained ranked No. 3 in the NJCAA/jcfootball.com poll this week. Blinn (Texas) is still No. 1 and Navarro (Texas) remains at No. 2. Likewise, Butler is still at No. 4 while Mississippi Gulf Coast moved to No. 5 this week after Arizona Western was upset by unranked New Mexico Military.

More details about the poll will be published in Thursday's edition of the Tribune.
