KATHERINE DORENE MORRELL

Katherine Dorene Morrell, 76, of Fort Scott, Kan., formerly of Blue Mound, Kan., died Monday, Nov. 2, 2009 at Mercy Health Center, Fort Scott.

She was born August 15, 1933 in Richards, Mo., the daughter of James and Mamie Taiclet Kramer.

She married Charles Morrell on Nov. 28, 1951 at Fort Scott, Kan. He preceded her in death on Oct. 22, 2008.

Dorene worked at the Linn County Nutrition Center, prior to her retirement.

She was preceded in death also by her parents; one son, Charles "Chuck" Morrell, four brothers, John, Les and Charlie Kramer and Bob Green and one sister, Mae Riley.

Survivors include one son, Dan Morrell and Dorothy of Blue Mound, Kan.; one daughter, Jan Martino and Lonnie of Olathe, Kan.; two brothers, Bill Kramer and Norma and Jim Kramer and Cecilia, all of Fort Scott, Kan.; one sister, Mary Lou Mabery of Parsons, Kan.; five grandchildren; Stephen and Ryan Martino, Kristen Snyder, Keith Morrell and Becky Davis; and 10 great-grandchildren Chandler, Halle and Blaine Morrell, Kyle, Megan, Ayden and Katie Davis, Cate, Keaton and Quentin Martino.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, at the Sunny Slope Cemetery, Blue Mound, Kan.

Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at the Coffel-Schneider Chapel, Mound City, Kan.
