Volunteers from SEK-CAP spent the day in Fort Scott Friday performing community service projects under the direction of Craig Campbell, Good Neighbor Action Team chairman. For several years, SEK-CAP held a Community Action Day when employees volunteer in the 12 counties the agency serves. Volunteers who worked in Fort Scott cleaned the monuments and trimmed trees on Skubitz Plaza, spread mulch at Riverfront Park and helped the library prepare for its summer reading programs. Some SEK-CAP services, such as transportation, continued to operate Friday, according to Craig Leabo, housing director for SEK-CAP.

SEK-CAP serves communities in Allen, Bourbon, Chautauqua, Cherokee, Crawford, Elk, Labette, Linn, Mongtgomery, Neosho, Wilson and Woodson counties. Its services includes early childhood education, housing, rental properties, transportation and community engagement.
