Replacing the fake brick

Leeyf Garcia, left, tamps sand while Austin Ledom, center, and Jessie Brown lay brick on 1st Street near the alley between National Avenue and Main Street. The crew is leveling the street and replacing stamped concrete that was used to repair brick streets when utilities work was done many years ago. This patch was identified as a priority area in 2021 when the alley was reconstructed with concrete. The three men are the newest members of the city street department under the direction of Jerry Morgan.
