Man accused of capital murder appears in court with new attorneys

A Bourbon County man facing a capital murder charge has new attorneys as the case moves forward.

During a status conference Wednesday in the State of Kansas vs. Dawson James Mitchell, Bourbon County District Judge Mark Ward discussed the case with attorneys on both sides; Bourbon County Attorney Tiana McElroy and Assistant Attorney General Jessica Domme representing the state, and Jeffrey Dazey and Brandi Studer of the Kansas Death Penalty Defense Unit, who have been appointed by the court to represent Mitchell.
