Brian Scott McDaniel

Brian Scott McDaniel, age 49, a resident of Fort Scott, Kan., passed away unexpectedly Monday, Nov. 7, 2022, at the Via Christi Emergency Room in Fort Scott. He was born Dec. 14, 1972, in Ft Scott, the son of Darrell McDaniel and Linda Kay Dunlap McDaniel. Brian received an Associates Degree from Fort Scott Community College. He was currently employed by Winvent. Brian will be remembered for his mechanical ability; he was always willing to help friends and family with car repairs. Brian enjoyed the outdoors. He enjoyed kayaking, but he really enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He often participated in patriotic rides with the American Legion. Brian also enjoyed shooting pool and was an avid fan of the San Francisco ‘49ers.

Survivors include his children, Kris Nickelson (Meganeira) of Lawrence, Kan., Donna Luther (Justin) of Nevada, Mo., Bre Bockes (Marc) of Kansas City, Mo., Lenora McDaniel (Lazerick) of Fayetteville, Ark., Monica Rice, of Joplin, Mo., Karah Beerbower of Fort Scott, Angela McDaniel also of Fort Scott and Brian Stumfoll of Nevada, Mo., and 20 grandchildren with another granddaughter on the way. Also surviving are his father, Darrell McDaniel of Bentonville, Ark., and a sister, Melissa McDaniel (Michael) of Bella Vista, Ark. He was preceded in death by his mother and two sisters, Tammy Baglin and Angela Delaney.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12 at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Burial will follow in the Centerville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Memorials are suggested to Care to Share and may be left in care of the Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S. Main, P.O.
