Linda Marie Hoskins

Linda Marie Hoskins, age 61 of Nevada, Mo., passed from this life at 1:50 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015 at her home after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was born Dec. 3, 1953 in Fort Scott, Kan., the daughter of Opher Lemon and Lillie Marie (Durossette) Greer. On May 29, 1974 she was united in marriage to Robert Ray Hoskins and he survives of the home.

Linda graduated from Nevada High School then attended beauty school. She went on to become a licensed CNA and was employed at the Moore-Few Care Center for more than 30 years. After she and Robert were married their union was blessed with one son. When a spare moment could be found, Linda enjoyed crocheting, knitting, camping, and "spoonbilling." It was her greatest dream to live on the river.

Survivors in addition to her husband include one son, Ray L. Hoskins and his wife Katherine of Nevada; grandchildren, Anthony, Christina, and Robert; great granddaughter Eliza Elaine; with another on the way; brother, John Pettibon of Deerfield; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Linda was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Opher, Debbie, Carolyn, Grover, and James. She will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by many.

Funeral services for Linda Marie Hoskins are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. just prior to the service also at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Deerfield Cemetery in Deerfield.
