Wilma Deane Endicott

Wilma Deane Endicott, age 82, resident of Fort Scott, Kan., died Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, at Mercy Hospital. She was born May 5, 1931, in Beloit, Kan., the daughter of Zean and Irene Ruth Westervelt Richardson. She graduated from Labette County High School. She married Deane Douglas Endicott on June 24, 1949, at Altamont, Kan. He preceded her in death on April 14, 2011. She was a great help to her husband's ministry through the years. She liked fishing, boating, camping and cooking. She enjoyed spending time with her family. After Deane passed, she was able to spend a year and a half with her son Garry and wife Kathy in Alabama. She returned to Fort Scott and was able to live with daughter Rita and husband John for a time before moving to Guest Home Estates. Wilma loved her time at Guest Home with the staff and residents there. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son Garry Ray Endicott and wife Kathy, Springville, Ala.; a daughter, Rita Tiegreen and husband John, Fort Scott; two sisters-in-law, Alice Endicott, Smithville, Mo., and Jackie Endicott, Emporia, Kan.; five grandchildren, Thad Endicott and wife Cheri, Valley, Ala., Trisha Bookout and husband Matt, Margaret, Alabama, Amanda Hale and husband Des, Fort Scott, Tim Tiegreen and wife Jessica, Leawood, Kan., and Dr.'s Joshua Tiegreen and wife Sara, Leawood, Kan.; 11 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a twin sister, Wilda Endicott; and her parents.

Pastor Thad Endicott, assisted by Pastors Marty DeWitt, Marvin George, and Matt Bookout, will conduct funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, at the First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Uniontown Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church.
