Reuben Harry Lowery, age 84, resident of Fort Scott, Kan., died Thursday morning, Jan. 16, at his home. He was born Sept. 23, 1929, the son of Albert Dewey and Odessa Bryner Lowery. He married Ruth Caroline Dennison on May 23, 1959, in Overland Park, Kan. He dedicated his life to Christ in May of 1948. He attended Transylvania Bible College in Freeport, Pa., Kansas City College and Bible School in Overland Park, Kan., and Truman University in Kirksville, Mo. Reuben pastored churches in Missouri, Iowa, and Kansas. He also taught at Kirksville Bible School. He was registrar and head of the Education Department at Kansas City College and Bible School. He worked in pastoral ministries as a volunteer at Mercy Hospital for 15 years. His hobbies included reading and refinishing furniture. He faithfully attended the Parkway Church of God (Holiness).

Survivors include his wife Caroline of the home; one son, Jonathan Lowery and wife Jalyn, Fort Scott; one brother, Albert Lowery and wife Mary Margaret, Farmington, Pa.; one sister, Edith 
Wallace and husband Thomas, Uniontown, Pa.; and two grandsons, Skyler and Seth Lowery; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Greeting him in heaven where his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ whom he faithfully served for many years, as well as his beloved daughter, Angeline Faith, who tragically left this world on Aug. 7, 1992. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Roger Lowry; two sisters Alberta Leonard and Martha Schirtiager; as well as his parents.

Rev. Jack Smith and Rev. Mark Stetler will conduct a celebration of life service at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, at the Parkway Church of God (Holiness). Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. in the Johnson County Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Overland Park, Kan. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Memorials are suggested to either Kansas City College and Bible School Family Scholarship or Fort Scott Christian Heights and may be left in care of the Cheney Witt Chapel, P.O. Box 347, 201 S.
