Wednesday, October 5, 2011

RIVERTON -- Fort Scott High School's soccer team pounced on Riverton, 8-0, in a non-league contest here Monday, winning its fourth game in its last 5 outings.

Don Savage scored four goals for the Tigers (8-5), raising his total to 19 for the season, which is four shy of the school record with three games -- all at home -- remaining in the regular season.

Wyatt Hulbert added 2 goals for the Tigers. David Goff and Marcus Brennon each scored 2.

The Tigers begin their season-ending homestand with a Southeast Kansas League match against winless Columbus at 4:30 Thursday at Ellis Park.

NOTES -- The Tigers defeated Coffeyville 4-0 in an SEK match last Tuesday as Savage and Hulbert each scored twice. They defeated Pittsburg in the first round of the Tornado Tournament Saturday but lost to host Coffeyville in the finals....
