Two tax seminars scheduled at Pittsburg State

Two tax seminars will be held in Pittsburg on Thursday, March 24 at Pittsburg State University, 1501 S Joplin, Shirk Hall, BTI Conference Room, Pittsburg.

A "Contractors' Tax Workshop" will begin with sign-in at 1:45 p.m. The program begins at 2 p.m. and concludes at 4:30 p.m. The workshop is devoted to sales tax issues for contractors, subcontractors and repairmen. It will address sales tax on materials and labor, Project Exemption Certificates, sales tax returns, billing and related issues.

A "Sales and Withholding Tax Seminar" begins with sign-in at 5:45 p.m. The program runs from 6-9 p.m. This session will ease the time the small business person spends filing tax reports and cover Kansas withholding tax and sales tax.

Both seminars will be presented by the Kansas Department of Revenue. Cost is $25 per person, or $40 for two people attending together. Advance registration by Monday, March 21 is required.
