Crawford County Sheriff's deputies have arrested a suspect in a residential aggravated robbery and car theft.

Detectives on Tuesday arrested Romy Christopher Ray Lewis, 32, of Pittsburg, in connection with a 1:30 a.m. Dec. 9 aggravated robbery at 912 N. West St. in Arma, a news release said. He is also charged with theft of vehicle and money and criminal damage.

The news release said Lewis was developed as a suspect soon after the robbery occurred. Detectives from the Pittsburg Police Department and Crawford County Sheriff's Office compared similarities in two aggravated robbery cases each department was investigating and believed they were looking for the same suspect, the release said.

Pittsburg Police obtained a warrant for Lewis and arrested him on Dec. 18, the release said. The Crawford County Sheriff's Office obtained enough probable cause to add the charges stemming from the Dec. 9 rural Arma residential robbery, the release said. The Arma woman's vehicle was recovered and returned to her undamaged the next day after it was located by deputies on South 200th Street in Crawford County, the release said. Lewis is accused of using a knife in both incidents. Both female victims are in their 70s and neither was seriously hurt in their respective incidents, the release said. Investigators believe the suspect acted alone in the robberies and both are isolated incidents, the release said.
