PITTSBURG -- During this difficult economic time many Kansas families are working hard to gain better control of their finances. With this goal in mind, State Treasurer Dennis McKinney's Office recently conducted brown-bag lessons on personal finances at Pittsburg State University.

The session was titled "Getting Organized: Tools for Your Cash Flow System."

"Financial education empowers families," McKinney said in a news release. "We believe it is important for Kansans to make educated decisions to make their money work as hard as possible for them."

This is the first financial education brown-bag session McKinney has taken on the road to a Regent University. The session's focus was organizing your records.

Partcipants also received a free personal home inventory guide from the Insurance Commissioner's Office.
