Angel Luis "Danny" Torres Jr., age 61, resident of 1409 S. National Avenue, Fort Scott, Kan., died Sunday, May 30, 2010, at the Golden Living Center in Pittsburg, Kan.

He was born Jan. 1, 1949 in Bronx, New York, the son of Angel Luis Torres and Louisa Estel Gonzales Torres.

Danny married Sheryl Lyons on May 20, 1989, in Downey, Calif.

He worked in California in sales for an industrial supply company.

He was employed in Fort Scott with personal home health.

He was a member of the Community Christian Church.

Danny loved baseball and was an avid New York Yankee fan.

Survivors include his wife, Sheryl, of the home; three daughters, Danielle Torres, Katelyn Torres and Elizabeth Torres, all of the home.

Also surviving is a brother, Carlos Torres, New York, New York, and a sister, Nilsa Torres, Schenectady, New York; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Clara and Homer Lyons, Fort Scott; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Rev. Kevin Moyers will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 3rd, in the Community Christian Church.

Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Cheney Witt Chapel.
