ONLINE FIRST: One injured in rollover accident

Witchita resident Jody Horsley, 34, was transported to Mercy Health Center by ambulance after sustaining injuries in a single vehicle accident early this morning.

Kansas Highway Patrol, Fort Scott EMS, and numerous other city and rural emergency crews responded to the scene of U.S. 54 Highway approximately 5 miles west of Fort Scott at 2:05 a.m.

Once on scene emergency personel found Horsley in her vehicle as it lie on its side in a ditch neighboring the highway.

The Highway patrol officer investigating the accident later reported the 2005, Chevrolet Impala was traveling eastbound on 54 highway when it left the roadway, entered a ditch on the south side of the road, then after striking a private drivway became airborne and rolled 1 1/2 times. The vehicle came to rest on the driver's side.

The extent of Horsley's injuries were not disclosed at the accident site.

It was reported that Horsley was wearing a safety belt during the accident.

Kansas State Highway Patrol will be continuing the investigation into the wreck.
