Families enjoy each other's companionship

Mr. And Mrs. Bill Lewis, Toelor Lewis, Beverly Peel and Marjorie Lewis. attended the 90th birthday reception for Esther Secrest. Sunday evening there were 70 relatives that ate together at Chicken Annie's. Her three children, grandchildren, and great-great Grandchildren all attended the party at the hob-nob building for lunch, a program, and reception for from 2 to 4 p.m. Everyone attending had a very good time.

Saturday afternoon. On July 14th, Betty Hixon attended a Secrest reunion held at the hob nob building at Catt School. There were around 70 in attendance, from, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma.

Joe and Shirley White attended Coal Center Days on Prescott July 6-7.

Scott Center celebrated his birthday, Thursday, July 12, at El Charro's, with the following family members. June Hereford. Ron, Linda and James Center. His parents hosted a belated birthday dinner for him on Sunday.

On July 22, Those attending were June Hereford, Ronette and Lindsey

Center, Jake and Kelsie Jo Collins.

Becky Canada, her son, Cory Shenkle, Towanda, and Tim Poage Alberta, Canada, visited with Becky's parents, Frank and Gypsy Hereford. They helped Frank get his ground ready to plant beans, and helped with many other things while visiting.

Joe and Shirley White attended a birthday party for their great-granddaughter, Ryann's second birthday. Her parents, Justin and Rachel Thurston hosted the party at their home in rural Fort Scott.

Ron, Linda, Ronette, Scott and James traveled to Clinton, Mo., to visit with Ron's mom, Marian. They made a second trip back, as Marian passed away at 9:23 p.m. Saturday, July 14.

Betty Hixon attended a 90 birthday reception for her aunt, Esther Secrest. on Sunday, July 15. There were many neighbors, friends, as well as family in attendance. Everyone enjoyed refreshments, and visiting.

Wayne Stringer attended the E. A. A, Air Show held in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

Tony, Buena, Eddie, and Heather Karleskint attended the funeral services for Tony's niece. Erica Karleskint, held in Parsons, Friday, July 27.

Ron and Linda Center and family received word Sunday evening, July 15 from Ron's sister, Nadine, informing them. her husband, their brother-in-law, Pole Easter had passed away.

Monday, July 16, Betty Hixon and other ladies from the Fort Scott Garden Club worked the open class flower show entries. Tuesday morning, they helped the judge, by putting the right ribbons on the flowers.

Mr. And Mrs. Bill Lewis, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Peel and Brady Peel, Marjorie Lewis, Lisa and Taelor Lewis, Mr. And Mrs. Brad Peel, Leesa, Lauren, and Dillion attended the wedding of Nick Harris and Jeanna Ziegler, Friday evening at Frontenac, and the reception following.

Ron and Linda Center traveled to Kansas City, Tuesday, July 17, to meet their son. Bill, who flew in for his 9randmother, Marian Center's, funeral. Bill, Ronette. Scott, and Lindsey Center sang, and Scott sang a solo. James Center, June Hereford, Jake Collins. and Kelsie Jo and Mary Jane Ayers joined them and others of the family at the Walker Christian Church, for lunch before her funeral. Ron, Linda, Bill, Ronette, Scott and James Center traveled to Clinton after the funeral to attend the visitation for Pole Easter. Thursday morning, July 19. they traveled back to Clinton for Pole's funeral. After eating lunch with the family at the Save our World Ministries Church. Ron, Linda, Bill and James traveled to the Kansas City airport, as Bill had a flight out that evening.

Marge Stringer enjoyed visiting her sister, Shirley Powers, in Thayer,

Monday, July 23. Mr. And Mrs. Ron Lewis were early morning breakfast

guest of his mother, Marjorie Lewis.

Keith Hereford, Westminster, Colo., visited last week with his brother, Frank and Gypsy Hereford.

Saturday morning, July 21, Dale and Betty Hixon, Fred Wright, Scott Allen and his daughter traveled to Nevada on their motorcycles, and met six other bikers from Pleasanton, Prescott and Butler at the 54 Cafe. They all enjoyed a nice ride, good food and fellowship.

Mr. and Mrs. Nick Harris, Hepler, visited Sunday afternoon with his grandmother, Marjorie Lewis. Beverly Peel joined them and all enjoyed playing cards.

Joe and Shirley White and Bob and Linda Bob McBride, enjoyed shopping in Pittsburg, and eating at Chicken Mary's.

Ron, Linda and James Center traveled to Kansas City, Tuesday. July 24.

Dale and Betty Hixon and Wayne and Marge Stringer joined other campers of the Old Forter's Camp Club at Farlington Lake. There were seven units and all enjoyed very good weather, playing games and a Saturday night potluck supper before their meetings.
