Seniors swing despite inclement weather early on Monday

The Senior Swingers had a very successful evening at Buck Run Community Center with 66 present.

The first topic of the evening was how much rain did you get today. Nevada won out with over four inches some places. We were very thankful for what we got and one thing for sure there wasn't a thought of cancellation. We were so glad to get the rain and the sun had come out and parking was dry. All went well.

The first attraction of the evening was when Max and Pauline Davidson from Liberal, Mo., brought in a big box of cucumbers to give away. They were very nice size, from five to eight inches each and they furnished the plastic bags to put them in. Soon after break time they were all gone. Thanks, again, to Max and Pauline.

We had two birthdays to acknowledge this week. Archie Wallace will celebrate his 60 birthday on Thursday, Aug. 2. We gave him a hand of welcome. Marvin Taylor will celebrate his 66 birthday, Friday Aug. 3. We also gave him a special hand of welcome.

We were glad to have Bonnie Gaddy from Pittsburg back with us tonight. She fell a couple weeks ago and fractured her arm and was carrying it in a sling, she was able to dance some. We never know what will come next.

There will be a dance at Cadmus Friday night.
