Tigers drop 49 on Grizzlies in romp
Solid blocking for Fort Scott Tiger rushers helped the Tigers to a 49-20 rout of the Labette County Grizzlies Friday night in Altamont.
The Tigers (3-2, 2-0) struck first and quickly on a three-play drive in the first when QB Lennox Vannís keeper fooled the Grizzly defense for a 50-yard score with 7:54 left in the first quarter to give the Tigers a 7-0 lead over the Grizzlies (1-4, 0-1.) Labette was forced to punt on their first possession.
The Tiger defense stuffed the run on the Grizzliesí next drive, and QB Kendall Holtzmanís pass to WR Lawrence Holt fell incomplete, leading to another Grizzly punt.
