City commissioners approve steps for new sports complex project

Fort Scott City Commissioners on Tuesday approved moving forward with an economic development project that has been in the works for two years.

Commissioners voted unanimously to allow city staff and bond counsel to move forward with establishing a Tax Increment Finance District and obtaining a Kansas Sales Tax and Revenue (STAR) bond so a new sports complex can be constructed on the edge of Fort Scott.
