Five Lady Tiger grapplers headed to state

Five members of the Fort Scott High School varsity girls wrestling team have qualified for the state tournament later this month.

Makaylae Rusk finished in first place, while Kenna Miles, Gabby Rusk and Brylie Schab each placed second, and Ali Simhiser finished fourth at the KSHSAA Girls 4-3-2-1A Regional Saturday in Coffeyville. The five girls will compete at the Class 4A-1A State Tournament Feb. 22-23 in Salina.

Fort Scott’s team also finished in fourth place in the team standings with 119 team points.
