Lagoon work expected to eliminate odor

During a special meeting Thursday, Fort Scott City Commissioners approved a $1,087,996.66 contract that will result in the elimination of the bad odor that has permeated and sometimes overwhelmed the town for at least a couple of months.
The odor problem at the city’s lagoon should be resolved within the next 30 days and lagoon maintenance should be completed within a few months, according to information from Advanced Microbial Solutions (AMS) of Carthage, Texas.
