USD 234, CHC/SEK to partner on in-school clinic

By 2023, more health care services will be available to USD 234 students and staff – inside the school building.

On Aug. 8, the USD 234 Board of Education approved participation in a grant opportunity that would provide a school-based health center in the district. The board heard from Ashley Hooper and Dan Duling representing Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas regarding a Kansas Department of Health and Environment grant that would provide a school-based health clinic, providing students and staff access to a medical provider, additional nursing services and mental health services.
