Cleo Margarete Cagle

Cleo Margarete Cagle, age 83, a resident of Fort Scott, Kan., passed away Saturday, May 1, 2021, at the Medicalodges in Fort Scott. She was born Sept. 15, 1937, in Greenfield, Mo., the daughter of Frank Pierce and Cecil Witt Pierce. She married Richard Cagle on Dec. 25, 1953, at Filley, Mo. Cleo was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed quilting and embroidery and was always in the mood for a cup of coffee.

Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Kelly, and two sons, Bob Cagle and Richard Cagle; seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Hazel Purdy. Cleo’s husband, Richard, preceded her in death on June 13, 1994. She was also preceded in death by a son, Jack Cagle, three sisters, Earlene Mitchell, Opal Calhoun, and Alberta Pierce and two brothers, Carl and Orville Pierce.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 5 at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Arma American Legion and may be left in care of the Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S.
