Tigers nip Eagles, 21-20

Stopping a 2-point conversation attempt late in the fourth quarter gave the Fort Scott Tiger football team a 21-20 victory over the Summit Christian Academy Eagles Friday night at Frary Field.

Facing a fourth and six with about a minute left in the game, the Eagles’ 6-5, 220 pound quarterback, senior Grayson Sprouse, connected with wideout Zach Oppriecht for a 34-yard touchdown pass that brought the Eagles within one point. Following a timeout, the Eagles elected to go for two points and the win, but the Tiger defense stepped up to stuff the run and seal the victory in the Tigers’ season opener.
