Uniontown volleyball sweeps

UNIONTOWN — Uniontown’s volleyball team swept a Three Rivers League triangular here Tuesday night. The Eagles beat Northeast, 25-18, 25-15, and Jayhawk-Linn, 25-11, 25-22.

In the middle match, Northeast fell to Jayhawk-Linn, 25-19, 25-16. No statistics were available for Northeast.

Danielle Howard has 7 kills for Uniontown in the match versus Northeast and Maddie Ard had 7 kills.

Ard recorded 10 kills versus the Jayhawks while Karleigh Schoenberger had 5.

“Our game is starting to come together,” Uniontown head coach Jackie Hall said. “We still have work to do on coverages and serve-receive. But I am pleased with how the team is coming together.”

Uniontown improved to 3-4 in league play and 10-12 overall. Northeast fell to 2-5, 6-17.

Uniontown’s junior varisty swept Northeast, 26-24, 25-15, and Jayhawk-Linn, 25-21, 25-22.

Uniontown plays league matches at Chetopa Tuesday with Marmaton Valley in attendance. Northeast will be at home the same day with Oswego and Southeast.
