Larry Allen Maycumber

Larry Allen Maycumber, 84, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018 at CHI St. Vincent Hospital in Hot Spring, Ark.

Larry was born Dec. 21, 1933, to J.W. and Elsie Anna (Cowan) Maycumber. Larry attended Fort Scott High School and graduated in 1951. He graduated from Kansas State Teachers College of Pittsburg in May 1955 and married Erma Jean Swaim on Oct. 28, 1955. Larry enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Germany from 1957 to 1958. Larry was co-owner and manager of Mayco Ace Hardware from 1968 to his retirement in 1986. Larry and Erma moved to Hot Springs Village, Ark. at that time.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, one brother John P. Maycumber, and his wife Erma Jean Maycumber. He is survived by their son Kendall A. Maycumber and multiple niece and nephews including Chris Maycumber and wife Deidra Maycumber of Fort Scott, and Jill E. Sommers and husband Mike of Arlington, Va.
