BUFFALO — Uniontown’s girls snapped a seven-game losing streak behind a pair of 9-point performances from Karleigh Schoenberger and Sammie Hampton as the Eagles downed Altoona-Midway, 43-21.

Danielle Young contributed 7 rebounds for the Eagles (2-8, 3-15), who led 30-9 at halftime.

Uniontown plays a TRL game at Northeast Friday night.

Yates Center boys 65, Northeast 51.

YATES CENTER — Northeast’s bid for a Three Rivers League championship has likely fallen by the wayside here Tuesday night as leader Yates Center took a 65-51 victory.

The win puts Northeast (7-2, 11-7) two games behind the Wildcats (9-0, 16-2) with two to go. And since the TRL Constitution calls for tie-breakers, the Vikings would have to finish one game ahead of both Yates Center and second-place Jayhawk-Linn (7-1, 13-4) in order to win the championship. One of the Jayhawks’ remaining games is against last-place Altoona-Midway, which hasn’t won a league game in about four years.

Northeast hosts Uniontown in league play Friday night.

Yates Center girls 54, Northeast 37.

YATES CENTER — Northeast fell to 2-7 in the TRL, 4-14 overall while Yates Center improved to 8-1, 14-4. No other information was available prior to the Tribune’s deadline.
