Joan Campbell Sager

Joan Campbell Sager, 88, passed peacefully in her sleep at Autumn Leaves Memory Care, Edmond, Okla., Sept. 13, 2017.

She was born, raised and attended school in Fort Scott, where she married Wayne Bland. Shortly after marrying, they moved to Oklahoma where they owned and operated Wayne Bland Ford, in Pawnee, Shawnee and Cushing, where Joan was office manager. They were married for 35 years and had two children. She was a member of First Christian Church and various civic organizations.

Joan remarried and moved to Pagosa Springs, Colo., where she and her husband, Jerry, lived for 32 years. Joan loved living in the mountains and traveling to several destinations around the world. Her passions were playing Bridge, walking, hiking and fishing with her grandchildren. She belonged to the Grey Wolves Ski Club, and participated in CO Senior Olympics, where she won several medals in swimming and fast walking relays.

Joan is survived by her husband, Jerry, of 33 years, Edmond, Okla.; daughter Linda (Steve) Davis, Edmond, Okla.; son Wayne (Pam) Bland, Colorado Springs, Colo.; brother Bill (Judy) Campbell and family, Versallies, Mo.; sister-in-law Sharon Campbell and family, Fort Scott; grandchildren Jeff (Karolyn) Davis, Zach and Katy, Tyler, Texas; Hailee (Tiffany) Bland-Walsh, Kansas City, Kan.; Anna Davis, Pawnee, Okla.; step-children, John (Gena) Sager, Dallas, Texas; Christine Sager (Dan Builderback), Anchorage, Ak.; step-grandchildren, Ben and Nick Sager, Texas; Sage Builderback, Calif.; and Matthew Grant, Denver, Colo.

Joan was preceded in death by parents Roscoe and Bernice Campbell, brother R.C. Campbell and daughter-in-law Shawna Bland.
