FSMS sweeps Parsons

Fort Scott Middle School’s volleyball teams swept Parsons at the middle school gym Monday evening.

The eighth-grade A team took a 16-25, 25-22, 15-10 win. Teryn Farley had 7 kills and Abby Altic had 5. Dylan Hazelbaker served 4 aces and Austyn Farrell served 3. The eighth-grade B team won 25-12, 25-22. Jenny Heckman served 6 aces for the Tigers while Harmony Shaw served 4 aces and had 3 kills. Emma Daly handed out 5 assists. Carley Horton had 5 kills.

The seventh-grade A team won 25-7, 24-26, 15-7. The B team won 25-7, 25-9 as Jaden Loercher served 5 aces.

Fort Scott’s eighth-grade A team plays in a tournament at Pittsburg today. The A teams for the seventh and eighth grades play at El Dorado Springs, Mo., on Monday. All four teams will play on Tuesday in a triangular at Pittsburg that will also include Parsons.

Start times are 8:30 a.m. Saturday, 4:30 Monday and 4:15 Tuesday.

The last matches of the season will be against Nevada on Thursday, Oct. 5 at the FSMS gymnasium.
