Escorting the memorial

More than 60 motorcycles are ready to escort a traveling Vietnam Veterans Memorial, which is inside the trailer pictured, Thursday afternoon at Fort Scott Munitions. The wall, a half-scale replica of the memorial in Washington, D.C., was escorted by various motorcycle groups and enthusiasts, law enforcement personnel and others from Fort Scott to Paola for activities slated to run through Sunday in Paola. The wall lists more than 58,000 names of the nation’s fallen heroes in the Vietnam conflict, including several from Bourbon County.
