Kathleen Kay Burr Kalm

Kathleen Kay Burr Kalm, 78, of Garland, Kan., passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2017.

She was born April 29, 1939, at Arcadia, Kan., the daughter of Thomas L. and Charlcia (Morris) Kauble. She attended local schools and graduated from Arcadia High School.

On June 8, 1956, she was united in marriage to David L. Burr at Pittsburg, Kan. He preceded her in death on March 24, 2011.

On August 24, 2013, she was united in marriage to Raymond H. Kalm, Sr. at the Arcadia Christian Church. He survives of the home in Garland, Kan.

Mrs. Kalm was an administrative assistant at Elm Acres for 19 years. She also had served as the Municipal Judge in Mulberry, Kan., for 20 years and in Arcadia, Kan.

Membership was held in the Crossroads Baptist Church, Girard, Kan. She also served in the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Rob Morris Chapter No. 74 Order of the Eastern Star, Arcadia Alumni Association, Autumn Leaves Senior Citizens, and the Pioneer Harvest Festival.

Mrs. Kalm loved to crochet, having made afghans for her grandkids and baby blankets for all of the great grandkids. She enjoyed playing the organ, bird watching, and tending her flower garden. Her greatest joy though, was her grandkids and great grandkids.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Rod Burr (Debra) of Elkton, Md., and Mark Burr (Patsy) of Centerville, Mo., one daughter, Karla Tersinar (Jeff) of Hepler, Kan., four stepsons, Randy Kalm (Lynn) of Kansas City, Mo., Raymond Kalm Jr. (Lori) of Stillwell, Kan., Ronnie Kalm (Julie) of Kansas City, Mo., and Tommy Kalm (Racquel) of Carl Junction, Mo., one brother, Donald Kauble of Lincoln, Mo., nine grandchildren, Stormie Burr, Samantha Burr, Dawn Allen, Joshua Tersinar (Brandy), Heather Busch (Walter), Dustin Tersinar (Amelia), Jason Burr, Megan Burr (fiancée, Jessie) and Shaun Burr, seven step-grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her first husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Beverly Hart, and one grandson, Matthew Burr.

A memorial cremation service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, June 19, 2017, at the Crossroads Baptist Church, Girard, Kan., with Reverend Mike Buckamneer conducting the service. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m., Sunday, June 18, at the Brenner Mortuary, Pittsburg. The family suggests memorials to the Crossroads Baptist Church.
