Ten teams, 55 dancers compete in Dancing With Our Stars

Rotary's Seventh Annual Dancing with our Stars was held Saturday evening at the Danny and Willa Ellis Family Fine Arts Center on the Fort Scott Community College campus.

This year's theme was "Battle for the Fort. Ten teams, with a total of 55 dancers, raised a total of $11,084 for local charities.

This year's winners were: Citizens Bank, most entertaining; Fort Scott Community College, judges choice; Fort Scott Manor, charity of giving; and First Source, best technical performance and Battle for the Fort overall winner.

Fort Scott Manor earned its award by raising the most money -- $2,742 for Lee's Paws and Claws. Other charities benefiting from the Rotary's largest fundraiser of the year were: Elks Youth Activities (First Source dancers); Care to Share (Cobalt MedPlans dancers); Friends of the Fort Scott National Historic Site (Friends of the Fort dancers); The Beacon (Citizens Bank dancers); Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) (FSCC dancers); Ronald McDonald House (McDonald's dancers); United Way (La Hacienda dancers); and Care Portal (Landmark Bank dancers).
