Eagle boys beat Oswego

UNIONTOWN -- Uniontown's boys scored 22 points in the fourth quarter here Tuesday night to take a Three Rivers League contest from Oswego, 57-51.

The Eagles (2-0 TRL, 5-3 overall) trailed 41-35 going into the fourth. They outscored the Indians (0-2, 2-5) by 12 points to take the win.

Garrett Elder led Uniontown with 18 points while also gathering 6 rebounds. Ben George added 12 points and hauled down 8 boards. Colt Sutterby had 9 points and 9 rebounds.

Oswego girls 48, Uniontown 45.

Shalina Harper (20) and Holly Shinn combined for 38 of Uniontown's points but the Eagles (0-2, 2-6) lost their fourth consecutive game. Harper also had 6 rebounds and 5 assists.

"Since our last loss, we have challenged ourselves in the areas of effort, attitude and toughness," Uniontown head coach Dustin Miller said. "We did not earn a win on the scoreboard but I know we grew in those three areas tonight."

Oswego improved to 2-0, 3-4.

Oswego also won the junior varsity game, 34-14. Danielle Young scored 4 points for the Eagles.

Uniontown's teams are idle until next Tuesday when they play their first-round games at the Pleasanton Mid-Season Tournament.
