Burton Wayne Ogle, 91 of Fort Scott, died at his home Nov. 12, 2016. He was born in Fulton, Kan., the son of Wayne and Mary Wiley Ogle. He married Daisy Duerson on Nov. 11, 1943 in Mound City, Kan. She preceded him in death on Nov. 23, 1999.

Burton served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, going off to war Christmas Day 1943 and coming back home Christmas Day 1945. He worked for the railroad for 47 years. Burton enjoyed fishing, hunting, going to the races, and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by one son, Anthony Ogle of Fort Scott, a brother David Ogle; five grandchildren, Cheri Hakeneis and husband Mike, Mariann Mackley and husband Norman, Tonya Belle and husband Jessee, Eddie Coulter and wife Kelly, Lance Coulter and wife Erin; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; numerous other family members and friends. His son Robert Ogle of Kansas City, Mo., passed away just 21 hours after Burton on Nov. 12, 2016. In addition to his wife Daisy, he was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Edward Ogle, and Marion Ogle, and two daughters, Ruth Ann Roberts, and Linda Lee Coulter.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016 at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home with Melissa George officiating. Burial will be in the Memory Gardens of Bourbon County Cemetery with Military Honors conducted at the cemetery by the Olson-Frary-Burkhart Post 1165 Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Detail. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016 at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, 15 W. Wall St., Fort Scott, Kansas.
