Peggy Ann Ellis, age 77, resident of Fort Scott, Kan., died Friday, Feb. 5, 2016, at her home. She was born Aug. 21, 1938, in Fort Scott, the daughter of Chester Price and Marjorie Lackrone King. She graduated from FSHS then attended FSCC School of cosmetology. Peggy worked at Walmart for several years before retiring. After retiring, she enjoyed working the voting polls. She liked gardening, cooking. She loved time spent with grandchildren, especially at Gunn Park. She was a fan of country music, Elvis Presley and the Beatles. She could be seen driving around town, sightseeing, as well as socializing with friends at the donut shop. She was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, Mercy Auxiliary, and Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church.

Survivors include her children, Robert G. Ellis, Susan Ellis Shuff, and Angela Young Stewart and husband Gary, Jr.; seven grandchildren, Karla Shuff Taylor, Alexander Shuff, Robert L. Ellis, DeAnna Ellis, Jacqueline Ellis, Matthew Levine, and Greenlee Stewart; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Ellis Levine; her parents; step-father, Louis King; and two sisters, Judith Elaine and Connie Sue King.

Rev. Steve Bell will conduct memorial services at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Private burial will take place in the Maple Grove Cemetery.
