Lottie Beth Martin

Lottie Beth Martin, age 88, a resident of Fort Scott, Kan., died early Friday, Jan. 22, 2016, at Medicalodge of Fort Scott. She was born Jan. 3, 1928, in Mapleton, Kan., the daughter of John Roy Odell and Leither Isabel Hills Odell. Lottie married Robert L. Martin on Jan. 24, 1947, in Vallejo, Calif. He preceded her in death in 1983. Lottie had received both her BS degree and MS degree in business education. She had taught business classes at Uniontown High School for 21 years. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was also a member of the KNEA, Delta Pi Epsilon, Delta Kappa Gamma, AARP, the Citizens Bank Funseekers Club, the Happy Oldster's Tour Group and the Red Hat Society.

Survivors include her son, Roby Martin and wife, Teresa, of Uniontown, Kan., and her daughter, Charlotte button and husband, Ralph, of Fort Scott; four grandchildren, Brian Harper and wife, Linda, and Chris Martin, all of Fort Scott, Sara Roufs and husband, Lonnie, of Redfield, Kan., and Seth Martin and wife, Christal, of Uniontown; nine great-grandchildren, Brianne, Jade, Robyn, Caden, Casen, Mason, Jacqulynne, Jakob and Arika and two great-great-grandchildren, Joci, Brise, Devena, and Nevaeh. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Cale Ezra Martin, a granddaughter-in-law, Mary Ann Martin, a brother, Sylvester Odell and two sisters, Verna Mae Coyan and Charlene West.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27 at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Burial will follow in the U.S. National Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time at the chapel.
