Cynthia Denise Emmerson, age 52, lifelong resident of Fort Scott, died early Monday, Dec. 14, 2015, at her home. She was born Aug. 10, 1963 in Fort Scott, the daughter of James Edwin Emmerson and Rita Marie Johnston Emmerson. Cindy was a 1985 graduate of Fort Scott High School and graduated from Fort Scott Community College in 1987. She was a member of Community Christian Church. Cindy loved working on her computer and attending ball games and music events of her nieces and nephews. She watched birds from her porch and especially enjoyed her visits to Branson, Missouri.

Survivors include her mother, Rita Emmerson; her father, Jim Emmerson; three sisters including a twin sister, Sherri Nash and husband, David, Peculiar, Mo., Angie Dauben and husband Joe, Texas, and Suzanne Quick and husband Matt, Fort Scott. Also surviving are three nieces, Adrienne Koehn, Meredith Marshall and husband Colin, and Samantha Nash; four nephews, Dakotah Gettler, Benjamin Gettler, Peyton Quick and Grayson Quick; and one great nephew, Lucas Nash. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Charley and Rose Johnston, and her paternal grandparents, John and Evelyn Emmerson.

Following cremation, Rev. Kevin Moyers will conduct Memorial Services at 2 p.m. at the Community Christian Church. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time at the church. Memorials are suggested to the Community Christian Church and may be sent to Cheney Witt Chapel, P.O.
