Saturday, October 17, 2015

The Fort Scott Community College men's basketball team will host their annual "Meet the Greyhounds" night at Arnold Arena at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday evening. Admission is free and there will be a taco dinner served for $5 which includes two tacos, rice and drink.

Fans, alumni, and the community will have a chance to watch and meet student-athletes from this year's men's basketball team. The evening will include introductions of the student-athletes, followed by practice and an inter-squad scrimmage. The event will end with an autograph session with the student-athletes.

"Last year's season did not end the way we would have liked it to end," FSCC head coach and 2013-2014 Jayhawk Conference Division II Men's Basketball Coach of the Year Michael Cook said. "However the year had some successful moments and that was a result of our players working hard and representing the community correctly.

"We want to continue to build our program the right way, represent the community well and thank them for supporting us and helping us grow. I can also say that our players are very excited to get the upcoming season underway."

The Greyhounds open the regular season on the road against in a four-team classic at Cowley College Oct. 30 and 31.
