MARGUERITE GENEVIEVE CLEMENTS HOSLER

MARGUERITE GENEVIEVE CLEMENTS HOSLER

Born Nov. 26, 1910 -- Passed March 2, 2015 -- age 104

Born in Fort Scott among five brothers and two sisters, Marguerite grew up, married Elmer Craig, bore a daughter and two sons, divorced eventually. It wasn't until a chance bus ride home to Fort Scott that engaged her in a conversation with a young soldier whom himself was returning home, but to Michigan. After bidding farewell at the Fort Scott depot, Harvey went on to his destination only to get right on the next bus back to Fort Scott. Marguerite had, after all, extended an invitation to him "If he were ever in Fort Scott again, do drop by." The rest is history. They had little Herbie and went to California, spending 10 years building a unique salvage vessel only to lose it 10 years later in a sudden storm off shore. Harvey was rescued thankfully, but their dream was dashed.

Their neighborhood was changing severely. Marguerite survived being hit by a car in front of her home. It was time they decided to make the move back to the sweet quiet life they had known in Fort Scott.

Marguerite's enduring fortitude in the face of hardship and unyielding perseverance attributed to 60 years of marriage. Always demonstrating tremendous faith above all. Thus serving to teach all of us the value of virtue and to trust in the Lord. They are sorely missed as we rejoice in their walk through Heaven.

She is survived by her son Herbert, son JD Craig, and daughter Claralice Westra of Grand Haven, Mich., 18 grandchildren, 24-plus great-grandchildren, and three-plus great-great grandchildren.

Internment will be on Harvey's birthday....July 15, 2015...one last gift to dad. "True Story!"
