Myla O. McKenney

Myla O. McKenney, 84, of Fort Scott, passed away Monday morning March 23, 2015 at Mercy Hospital. She was born Nov. 4, 1930 in Carthage, Mo., the daughter of Larkin and Huldah (Fogerson) Marshall. She married Jim McKenney March 31, 1950 in Rogers, Ark. He preceded her in death Feb. 9, 1996.

Myla graduated from Carthage High School and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and PEO.

Myla is survived by her children, Mike McKenney and Pauline Hart, Craig McKenney and Dana, Mark McKenney and Cindy, Tim McKenney and Deb, all of Fort Scott, Kan., Pat McKenney and Kathy of McAlister, Okla., and Lisa McKenney-Proctor and Keith of Nevada, Mo.; a sister, Maxine Marshall-Burks of Carthage, Mo.; 19 grandchildren, Angela McKenney, Reece McKenney, Drew Suddock, Melissa Steib, Kristina McKenney, Julie Daly, Shane Wood, Shannon Pulliam, Jami Campbell, Jayci McKenney, Lincoln McKenney, Jacob McKenney, Kenny Carpenter, Kelly Carpenter, Clinton Carpenter, Courtney Carpenter, Brandy Proctor, Samantha Proctor, and Coleman Proctor; and 24 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband Jim, she was preceded in death by her parents, and a granddaughter, Parker McKenney.

Rev. Jared Witt will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 26, 2015 at the First Presbyterian Church under the direction of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church and left in the care of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, 15 W. Wall St., P.O.
