Eagle girls fall in first 2 games

HUMBOLDT -- Uniontown High's girls have dropped their first two games in the Humboldt Robin Tournament.

Humboldt took a 56-37 victory in varsity play in the opening round on Tuesday night. Shalina Harper led the Eagles with 15 points and Keely Goodridge added 11.

"The girls played hard," Uniontown head coach Dustin Miller said. "We just have to keep pressing forward and get better every game."

In junior varsity action, Humboldt prevailed, 43-13. Audrey Chaplin scored 3 points for Uniontown.

Humboldt boys defeated Uniontown in varsity play Tuesday, 84-29. No details were provided.

Erie girls prevailed in varsity play over Uniontown Thursday night, 50-32. Harper scored 21 points for the Eagles (0-3), which was matches by Erie's Chrisiana Maurer. UHS was credited with 29 rebounds and 9 steals.

Uniontown's boys also took on Erie Thursday. The result was not available at press time.

Both Eagle teams will face Crest in the final round tonight.
