UNIONTOWN -- Uniontown jumped out to a 16-0 lead here Friday night. But No. 5-ranked Madison/Hamilton scored 40 consecutive points to overcome the early deficit and come away with a 48-22 victory.
The Eagles (1-1) got on the board with a Jacob Duffey quarterback sneak followed by a 2-point conversion run by Cole Schafer. Schafer scored the second touchdown with James Pearson adding the conversion to make it 16-0.
Madison (1-1), which was upset by unranked Spearville last week, led 32-16 at the half. Schafer scored the last Uniontown TD on a fourth-quarter run, which cut the deficit to 40-22 at the time.
Tommy Joles made 13 tackles for the Eagles while Josh Wisely and Gavin Miller had 10 each.
