PARSONS -- Fort Scott High School's golf team finished third at the Parsons Invitational here Thursday with Conner Antonetti finishing in second place for the Tigers.

This was not one of the Southeast Kansas League's four designated tournaments. The fourth and final one will be held at Chanute on May 12, one week before the Class 4A Regional Tournament at Independence.

Antonetti shot 39 on the front nine and 38 on the back to finish with a score of 77. Logan Vacca of Coffeyville won the individual title by shooting 39-37--76, posting the lowest score for the back nine.

Jonathan Allen, the current leader in the SEK individual standings, finished 10th at 41-43--84, winning the final medal following a scorecard playoff with Independence's Alex Wesselowski (41-43) and Pittsburg's Jake Austin (39-45).

"Conner played well and finished second," Fort Scott head coach Ken Klassen said. "He's now consistent in dipping into the seventies. Jonathan played feeling sick, but competed well enough to gain a medal."

The Tigers shot 340 as a team with Clayton Hixon's 46-43--89 and Dane Ramsey's 42-48--90, both season lows, rounding out the team score.

"Clayton drove the ball exceptionally well and putted quite well also," Klassen said. "And Dane had a solid nine followed by a shaky one. So all in all, we have something to build off of."

Weston Woodring shot 61-53--114 for the Tigers and Seth Marshall, filling in for Tucker Horn, finished at 61-63--124.

Independence won the team title with a score of 322 as the Bulldogs had three medalists. Labette County, which also had three medalists, finished second at 328.

"The team had some bright signs, although we lost to Labette for the first time this year and backed up a bit on our team score," Klassen said.

The Tigers will take place in a non-league tournament at Coffeyville on Tuesday with play set to begin at 3 p.m.
