Ancel C. "Andy" Johnson

Ancel C. "Andy" Johnson, age 68, resident of rural Fort Scott, died Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at his home. He was born August 17, 1945, in Fort Scott, Kan., the son of Abner and Josephine Handrahan Johnson. He graduated from Uniontown High School. He married Karen K. Holeman on June 7, 1964, at Bronson, Kan. She preceded him in death on March 20, 2011. He later married Olivia Agustin on Oct. 30, 2013. Farming and ranching was Andy's life. He was a member of the Redfield Ruritan, Kansas Livestock Association, Soil Conservation Board, Farm Service Agency Board, and past member of the Citizens Bank Advisory Board. He enjoyed elk hunting in the mountains, trout fishing in Montana, and riding his horse checking cattle. He loved being involved with all the grandkid's activities through the years. He was a member of the Community Christian Church in Fort Scott.

Survivors include his wife Olivia of the home; one son, Jeff Johnson and wife Laura, Moran, Kan.; two daughters, Tammy Frank, Lawrence, Kan., and Robin Schrack and husband Corey, Gardner, Kan.; a brother, Pat Johnson and wife Connie, Redfield, Kan.; and a sister Lois Coyan and husband George, Redfield, Kan.; as well as six grandsons, Nolan and Garrett Frank, Trent and Ty Johnson, and Corbin and Carson Schrack. Besides his wife Karen, he was preceded in death by his parents.

Rev. Kevin Moyers will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, at the Community Christian Church. Burial will follow in the Mt. Orum Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday at Community Christian Church. Memorials are suggested to Autism Speaks and may be left in care of the Cheney Witt Chapel, P.O.
