Joyce Richardson, 75, of Prescott, Kan., formerly of Pittsburg, passed away 9:18 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014 at Mercy Hospital in Fort Scott, Kan.

She was born May 20, 1938 at Brady Township, Oklahoma, to E.C. "Jack" and Estelle (Speed) Richardson. She was raised in Oklahoma and had lived in Kermit, Texas and Hobbs, N.M., before moving to Pittsburg 27 years ago.

Mrs. Richardson was a homemaker.

Survivors include a son, Jack Ripper and his wife, Lora of Bronson, Kan.; a daughter, Valerie Ripper of Farmington, N.M.; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, James Claude Richardson.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, at the Bedene Funeral Home in Arma with Rev. Steve Cole officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Pittsburg. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Friday at the Bedene Chapel. The family suggests memorials to the Joyce Richardson Memorial Fund. Donations may be sent to or left at the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E.
