Margie Kathleen Northrop, age 92, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at the 
Fort Scott Manor. She was born Oct. 3, 1921 in Rich Hill, Mo., the daughter of Thomas Frederick Lyons and Nannie Brown Lyons. She was a 1938 graduate of Fort Scott High School. Margie married Harold Northrop on April 1, 1949 in Bentonville, Ark. He preceded her in death on June 14, 1998. She was retired as a secretary for Western Insurance Company followed by 10 years employment with KMDO Radio Station.

Survivors include one son, William "Bill" Hall, Fort Scott; two brothers, Charles "Skip" Lyons, Sacramento, Calif., and John Lyons, Osage Beach, Mo.; two sisters, Eileen Roloff, San Francisco, Calif., and Ella Mae Harris, Port Angeles, Wash. Also surviving are two grandsons, Mike Hall, Olathe, Kan., and Mark Hall, Fort Scott; three great-grandchildren, Devin Hall, Zane Hall and Kinley Hall; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Karen Sue Hall, four brothers, Bob, Lee. Jack and Luther Lyons; and three sisters, Bessie Adamson, Vineta Bowers and Lena Saunders.

Following cremation, graveside services with burial in U.S. National Cemetery will take place later in the spring under the direction of Cheney Witt Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society and may be sent to Cheney Witt Chapel, P.O. Box 347, Fort Scott, Kansas.
