Fleta May Harper-Wright, 88, of Liberty, Mo., formerly of Petersburg and Uniontown, Kan., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013. Her Celebration of Life will be Saturday, Nov. 9 at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, 1600 N 291 Highway, Liberty, Mo., from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fleta was the daughter of Walter and Iva (Kough) Harper of Petersburg, Kan. She was born on Jan. 4, 1925 at home near Petersburg. On Oct. 16, 1946, she married Lawrence Russell Wright, of Uniontown, in Fort Scott, Kan.

Fleta worked at the Key Clothing Company in Fort Scott, Kan., as a clothing inspector for three years after high school. After raising her three children, she also worked at Lake City Ammunition Plant in the late 1960s-early 1970s. After retirement, she enjoyed spending time with family, gardening, painting wooden crafts, and quilting.

Fleta was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Russell, who passed in January 2012, along with her parents, and brothers Buford Harper and Harvey Harper. She is survived by her twin brother, Floyd (Helen) Harper, of Uniontown, Kan., sons Larry (Sue) Wright, Branson, Mo., Garry (Fran) Wright, Fair Oaks, Calif., and daughter Linda (Mike) Bolsenga, Trimble, Mo., as well as nine grandchildren: Tracy Wright, Tammy Wright Frick, Marissa Bolsenga Cowan, Justin Bolsenga, Chris Wright, Jon Wright, Eric Wright, Sonny Wright, and Ryne Bolsenga, 10 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in the name of Fleta M. Wright to the Liberty Hospital Hospice, Liberty, Mo. Cremation will follow at a later date. Her ashes will be interred in the family plot in Uniontown, KS. Special thanks go to Rose Loughrey for her tender care and attention these past eight months.
