PLEASANTON -- Uniontown High School's volleyball team will finish at least tied for second place in the Three Rivers League following a sweep of Crest and Pleasanton here Tuesday night.

The Eagles (8-1 TRL, 19-6 overall) defeated Crest, 25-7, 25-7. Mandie Ridge was perfect in attack, converting all eight opportunities as she finished with 6 kills. Emily Shinn was 6 of 8 in attack with 4 kills. Britney Stokes handed out 12 assists.

Uniontown swept Pleasanton, 25-12, 25-14. Ridge was 16 of 20 in attack with 4 kills and Hannat Travis converted 8 of 10 attack chances. Stokes was credited with 14 assists.

"This was a nice way to finish out league play for us," Uniontown head coach Jackie Hall said. "We certainly improved our level of play from last week's outing at Chetopa. We are still missing serves but our bench really came through for us. Ambar Abrego, Lindsay Nietfeld and Jana Wilkinson all stepped in and served well for us coming off the bench."

Uniontown's junior varsity swept Crest, 25-6, 25-5, as Kate Coll served 12 points. Crest did not bring a JV team.

The Eagles will host their annual varsity invitational Saturday using the West Bourbon Elementary School and Uniontown High School gymnasiums. Play is set to begin at 8:30 a.m. Then the Eagles will have a full week off before going to the Central Heights Tournament on October 19 at Richmond.
